The Library Apple Tree reminds us that we can purchase an accelerated reader test for $3.00 and/or a book and accelerated reader test for $20.00. Teachers have requested that students give $3.00 to this fund rather than give them end of year gifts or other holiday type gifts. The $3.00 and $20.00 is just a suggested amount as any donation to our library is greatly appreciated. Donating parties can decide if they would like us to place a book plaque inside a book with a student's name, or in memory of a particular person, in recognition of the book or accelerated reader test purchase. The tree was put up during spring parent/teacher conferences and what a generous response we have had in just this first week at the majority of our elementary schools. Giving money to the AR fund drive will enable much more of our book collection to be utilized by our students and anytime we can enable students to read their lives will be made much richer.
