All Students who enroll as a freshmen at one of the Six Regents Universities MUST meet qualified admission requirements as follows:
1. A.C.T. composite score of 21 or above OR2. Rank in the top 1/3 of their graduation class OR3. Take the QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS curriculumin high school.
QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS CURRICULUM14 TOTAL UNITSMinimum GPA in these courses must equal 2.0 or better
ENGLISH = 4 UnitsNATURAL SCIENCE = 3 UnitsStudent must take 3 units chosen from the following courses:*Physical Science*Biology*Earth & Space Science*Chemistry*Physics*Zoology / Botany**At least (1) unit must be in Chemistry or PhysicsMATH = 3 UnitsStudent must take 1 unit each of*Algebra I*Geometry*Algebra II
Mathematics courses completed in middle school or junior highschool will NOT count toward Qualified Admissions requirements.
SOCIAL SCIENCES = 3 UnitsStudents must complete the following:*1 Unit - U.S. History*1/2 Unit - Government
COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY= 1 UnitStudents must take:*1/2 Unit - Computer Applications*1/2 Unit - Computer Information Systems
KANSAS SCHOLARS CURRICULUM17 TOTAL UNITSTo be recognized as a "State Scholar"
ENGLISH = 4 UnitsNATURAL SCIENCE = 3 UnitsStudents must take:1. Biology2. Chemistry3. PhysicsStudents are strongly encouraged to take a 4th year of Science.
MATH = 4 Units1 Additional Unit required in advanced mathematics*Trigonometry*Pre-Calculus or Calculus*College AlgebraStudents are strongly encouraged to take a mathematics courseevery year of high school.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES = 2 Units2 Units must be in the same language
Students completing the 17 Units of the Kansas Scholars Curriculummay be eligible to apply for: State Scholarship Program, Minority Scholarship Program, or the Kansas Teacher's Scholarship.
