Kansas Board Of Regents
 

All Students who enroll as a freshmen at one of the Six Regents Universities MUST meet qualified admission requirements as follows:

1. A.C.T. composite score of 21 or above OR
2. Rank in the top 1/3 of their graduation class OR
3. Take the QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS curriculum
in high school.

QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS CURRICULUM
14 TOTAL UNITS
Minimum GPA in these courses must equal 2.0 or better

ENGLISH = 4 Units
NATURAL SCIENCE = 3 Units
Student must take 3 units chosen from the following courses:

*Physical Science
*Biology
*Earth & Space Science
*Chemistry
*Physics
*Zoology / Botany

**At least (1) unit must be in Chemistry or Physics

MATH3 Units
Student must take 1 unit each of
*Algebra I
*Geometry
*Algebra II

Mathematics courses completed in middle school or junior high
school will NOT count toward Qualified Admissions requirements.

SOCIAL SCIENCES = 3 Units
Students must complete the following:
*1 Unit - U.S. History
*1/2 Unit - Government

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY= 1 Unit
Students must take:
*1/2 Unit - Computer Applications
*1/2 Unit - Computer Information Systems

 
KANSAS SCHOLARS CURRICULUM
17 TOTAL UNITS
To be recognized as a "State Scholar"

ENGLISH = 4 Units
NATURAL SCIENCE = 3 Units
Students must take:
1. Biology
2. Chemistry
3. Physics
Students are strongly encouraged to take a 4th year of Science.

MATH4 Units
1 Additional Unit required in advanced mathematics
*Trigonometry
*Pre-Calculus or Calculus
*College Algebra

Students are strongly encouraged to take a mathematics course
every year of high school.

SOCIAL SCIENCES = 3 Units
Students must complete the following:
*1 Unit - U.S. History
*1/2 Unit - Government

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY= 1 Unit
Students must take:
*1/2 Unit - Computer Applications
*1/2 Unit - Computer Information Systems

FOREIGN LANGUAGES 2 Units
2 Units must be in the same language

Students completing the 17 Units of the Kansas Scholars Curriculum
may be eligible to apply for:  State Scholarship Program,
Minority Scholarship Program, or the Kansas Teacher's Scholarship.
