The educational programs in Wellington are concerned with all phases of individual growth. A federal law called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) says that all eligible school-aged children and youth with disabilities are entitled to receive a free appropriate public education. Students will be provided with sound academic opportunities to facilitate their physical, emotional, social, and vocational potential. $0Wellington Public Schools exist for the benefit of each student regardless of his or her capacity for learning. It is our task to provide demanding programs appropriate for all levels of ability. The goal of the Special Education Department is to implement this philosophy into practice for students with disabilities and to insure that children with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. $0 Educational Services for All Children It is our goal to serve every disabled, school-aged child who resides in our district.
