"APPLE PICKERS" @ IKE for Kansas Day!

A musical (and quite humorous) group from Belle Plaine, calling themselves the "APPLE PICKERS", performed Tuesday at Eisenhower Elementary, as part of the EAGLE celebration of KANSAS DAY! The "Apple Pickers" integrate info about "KANSAS" into their music, making it quite apropos for the occasion. D.A.R.E. Graduation Highlights

5th Graders from across the USD 353 School District, were recognized Wednesday evening, for their involvement this school year in the D.A.R.E. program, administered by SRO Jim Yunker, also a member of the Wellington Police Department. WHS S.A.D.D. students assist Officer Yunker throughout the school year with these endeavors.

KWHS News Team Visits "BUCKET DRUMMING" Mustangs!

KWHS NEWS staff members Dakota Lynnes, Drake Hendrix, Kenny Farley, Allie Wright, and Emma Rains visited the 5th grade Mustangs in Mrs. Pam Thompson's music class at Washington Elementary earlier this week. The young musicians showed off their new drumming talents and WHS Senior Lynnes demonstrated his drumming skills to their delight! The students shared their thoughts on music and it was actually a reunion of sorts as well. Mrs. Thompson had all "5" of the News Team members as students when they were in grade school so many years ago.

State-Bound Debaters Get Big Sendoff @ WHS!

The WHS Varsity Debate team were given a BIG SEND OFF at WHS - the "Debaters" are State-Tournament Bound!! Devin Dickinson, Gabe Hyer, Austin Fink and Austin Harriger had all qualified earlier in the season at tournaments at Chaparral and Augusta.

Last month, the WHS Varsity Debate won first place at the 4-Speaker Debate Regionals in Parsons! In fact, the Crusaders earned a clean sweep victory with a 12-0 score!
