We anticipate a lot of communication this school year between schools and schools and between schools and spectators. Local health conditions will vary, updates and revisions will be posted as they are received, on this page throughout the school year. (Both WHS & WMS)
Events will appear in "calendar date & time order". If we have received event information from the "event host", the "SPECTATOR EVENT INFO" link will be an active link, you can click for additional spectator info.
Jim McNiece, KSDE Board of Education Representative, attended last night’s USD 353 BOE meeting to present Washington Elementary with the Challenge Award.
The Challenge Award recognizes schools for outstanding achievements and uncommon accomplishments based on Kansas math and reading assessment results and other qualifying factors, specifically the sample size, ethnicity and social-emotional status of those taking the test.
USD 353 ENROLLMENT for 2020-2021 school year and Kansas Star Casinos' $100 Visa Card distribution to district students took place on Tuesday at each of the districts' 6 learning facilities, i.e Washington, Eisenhower, Lincoln, Kennedy, WMS and WHS. Parents were able to indicate their preference for remote (online) learning vs in-class learning. Both are options and a combination of the two (hybrid) could also result, depending on covid conditions and local health guidelines as the school year begins and progresses.
