WHS had a “FRESHMAN” enter an essay contest put on by the KANSAS BUSINESS HALL of FAME (KBHF). There were 98 entries from across the State. The “3” Top Winners state-wide were:

*Shea Inlow – Sophomore from Sedgwick HS
*Emma Elder – Senior from Nemaha Central HS   ….and drum roll please

*Taylon Ellis – FRESHMAN from Wellington HS!!!!!!!!

All “3” will be honored at an event that honors the Kansas Exporter of the Year, Governor’s Award for Excellence, and other awards, tentatively scheduled for June 18th in Topeka. The TOP 3 (Taylon, Shea & Emma) also received $200 checks!!

Great Job Mr. Ellis!! (I had the pleasure sitting next to Taylon for a while at a Wrestling Tournament here this past winter)…to keep it short and sweet, a fine and impressive young man and very enjoyable to talk to. I’m not surprised his essay was TOP NOTCH!! GREAT JOB CRUSADER!! Way to represent, and only a Freshman!! WOW!!
