Principal Ann Shinliver selected "Jaidyn" to wear a GOPRO camera during the recent Jog-A-Thon...he and his friends basically turned it into a GOPRO Commercial! From self selection as SECURITY for the GO PRO CAMERA to reminding "someone" what he wants for Christmas! The Jog-A-Thon, for those not familiar is an annual event where laps are run by the students and in return, folks pledge so much $$ per lap for fundraising purposes.

Winners Finally Emerge at Mustang Spelling Bee Thursday!

Spelling BeeThe 2nd through 5th grades at Washington Elementary this past week held a Spelling Bee with parents and classmates on hand to observe. It was a battle in each class to ascertain an eventual winner but winners were eventually determined.

The rain delayed (Friday) JOG-A-THON @ Washington Elementary was rescheduled for Monday A.M. and what a beautiful morning it turned out to be.

1st & 2nd Grade Music Program 022516

WASHINGTON MUSIC CONCERT The Washington Elementary 1st and 2nd graders performed Tuesday at WHS. The program (MORE PICS) was directed by Pam Thompson, who along with Linda Ballard instruct music at the 4 elementary schools in the district.

Wellington 4th/5th Graders Attend Symphony & More!

Some of Wellington's Fourth & Fifth graders attended the Wichita Symphony's Young People's Concert on Thursday. It was "Gershwin's Magic Key." Afterwards the group had an interesting visit to the Sedgwick County Historical Museum in honor of Kansas Day! A wonderful time was had by all! D.A.R.E. Graduation Held @ WHS - Jan. 2016

D.A.R.E. GRADUATIONWellington's 5th graders are now official D.A.R.E. GRADUATES after a ceremony Tuesday evening at WHS. WPD Officer Jim Yunker, the school district SRO leads up the D.A.R.E. classroom training for the students here in USD 353. S.A.D.D. members from WHS assisted Officer Yunker with the program.


MATH NIGHTParents, Grandparents, Students and even former students gathered at Washington Elementary, Thursday, Jan. 21st for the 2nd Annual MATH Night!! The halls and rooms were filled with laughter, flying math balls, brainteasers, math Jenga, Garbage, Heads-Up, Plexors, math technology, and more.
