Congratulations James Stone from Washington Elementary

Our very own 5th grade Washington Elementary student, James Stone, has been honored to participate in the 4th-6th Grade Talent Search at Duke University.  Eligibility for participation in the Talent Search is an honor requiring exceptional academic ability.

ACT Prep Courses
USD 353 will be offering ACT Prep Courses again this summer. If you are thinking of taking the ACT or already have done so but would like to improve your score, courses will be held at the Middle School in the VLP lab starting May 21st on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s; 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and again from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.  (Please note that June 11th through 13th ACT Prep Courses will be closed.)

Drivers Education
 
USD 353 is still accepting applications for Drivers Education. A Driver Education course will be offered this summer for students who have completed their eighth grade year of school and who will be 14 years of age by May 31st, 2013, but not yet 21 years of age by September 1st, 2013. Cost of the course is $150.00 (one hundred fifty dollars) for in-district students and $200.00 (two hundred dollars) for out-of-district students. This fee is non-refundable once students have begun their behind-the-wheel training. For further information, contact Randy Strothman at the Middle School (326-4320) from 8:00 AM -  8:40 AM or 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

High School and Elementary Summer School Information



Summer School Program for High School Students

Your son or daughter would benefit by making up a required class during summer school. Parent and student need to sign and date the enrollment form which is available in the Wellington High School Guidance Office.  Summer school will be held at Wellington High School during the times listed below.  Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis. 

Summer School Sessions:   June 3 – June 27

Session 1:   8:00-11:00AM         ½ credit       Cost:   $20.00

Session 2:   1:00-4:00PM           ½ credit       Cost:   $20.00

Elementary Summer School Program

Summer School will be held at Lincoln Elementary on July 22nd through August 2nd.  There will be 2 sessions one from 8 am -10am  and 10 am - 12 pm.

This is for grades K-3 and SPED with IEP requirement.  ALL STUDENTS MUST BE TEACHER SPECIFIED

USD 353 is currently accepting applications for the Lincoln Elementary School Secretary. If you are interested in this position, please stop by the Central Office at 221 S. Washington to pick up an application.
 
USD 353 has a Para Educator Position open and is currently accepting applications. Job will entail working with Special Education Students with classroom assignments and some possible lifting. Please stop by the Central Office or locate the application on our website.
