A big thank you goes out to the Kansas All-Star Scholars Fund program. Each year they award our seniors who are moving on to post-secondary education and those who were at the top of their class with scholarships. This year, due to the rising cost of post-secondary education, they have increased their scholarship funding for all levels. Below is a summary of what they previously provided and what they will be offering this graduating class. (Note from All-Star Scholars: “We also do realize that some schools have moved away from the salutatorian/valedictorian format; however, we will not be changing ours.”)
Previous
$1,000 – Seniors moving on to post-secondary education
$2,000 – Top 10% of the class (Does not include the above)
$4,000 – Salutatorian
$5,000 – Valedictorian
This Year
$1,500 – Seniors moving on to post-secondary education
$2,500 – Top 10% of the class (Only includes this amount, they don’t receive the $1,500 plus the $2,500)
$5,000 – Salutatorian
$6,000 – Valedictorian
