District students participate in fall homecoming parade

Last night, Thursday, September 15, the schools and community held the annual fall homecoming parade.  All four elementary schools joined the high school classes, Duchess candidates and escorts, marching band, Crimson Dancers, cheerleaders, and color guard in celebrating homecoming and all its festivities.  The parade up Washington Avenue culminated in a pep rally at Heritage Park where new head football coach Jeremiah Meeks and senior football player Jack Wright addressed the crowd amidst performances by the band, dancers, and cheerleaders as the duchess candidates and community looked on.

At halftime of tonight's football game against Collegiate, the homecoming ceremony will commence and a new WHS Duchess will be crowned.  The candidates for Duchess as selected by the boys in the senior class are Heidi Gulick, Jordyn Brown, Kasiah Richmond, Jensen Lynnes, and Emma Stover.  Their escorts are, respectively, Kylen Smith, Hunter Lough, Banks Hinshaw, Cole McCorkle, and Keaton Hartman.
