Students across 353 enjoy Special K game

Last Friday was the highly-anticipated home game in the high school Special K Basketball Team's schedule.  Students from all over USD 353 attended with posters rooting for both teams and the high school band, cheer squad, radio team, and student body were out in full force to make it a grand showing, as well!

Special K Basketball was started at Wellington High School the '08-'09 school year when they joined the Tri-County League, a league formed to create opportunities for students who otherwise would not be able to participate in organized competitive sports.  The team is sponsored by Ms. Brenda Gray and coached by student coaches Kasiah Richmond, Shiney Hughes, and Banks Hinshaw.  The season typically runs from January to March.
