Swatting Calls to Numerous School Districts about Active Shooters
This morning at 9:28 SRO Wylie was notified by WPD that a call had been received at the high school about a possible threat at the school. WPD responded and quickly deemed the report to be a hoax. Numerous school districts in Kansas have received calls this morning about active shooters at their schools. Dispatchers in those districts quickly identified those calls as potential swatting calls and found the information to be false. WPD and school officials are monitoring this false report. We want to assure the community that everyone is safe.
